I'm new to this. What should I expect?

What Is Waist Training?

Waist training is wearing a high compression garment around your waistline giving your body a sculpted look in a matter of minutes.

Getting the Right Size

Make sure you get the right size. Poor fitting waist trainer are uncomfortable. And wearing too small or big won't help you achieve your goal. Click here for the chart size guide.

Trying Your Waist Trainer On

Trying your waist trainer for the first time may be difficult but once you’ve done the first hook the others can be fastened much more easily. And you'll get used to it with everyday use.
Start hooking at the bottom of your waist moving upwards - this is the easiest way to wear your waist trainer. When it’s completely done up, the waist trainer should fit your midsection without feeling uncomfortable or any pain.

Using Your Waist Trainer

A waist trainer can help to slim and sculpt your midsection but your body needs time to adjust too so start with a looser fit and wear it for an hour or two a day until you are comfortable wearing it. It is recommended to wear it for eight hours a day to get the best results.

For maximum result wear your waist trainer daily, eat a balance diet and exercise.

Note: a waist trainer should never cause intense physical pain. If you ever experience this, please remove the waist trainer immediately.

How do I choose the right size of waist trainer??

Please refer to our Size Guide page.

https://www.curvesculpting.com/pages/size-chart

How long are the waist trainers?

Our latex trainers are 30cm long. Generally, the waist trainer should sit just below the breast and on/above the hips.

How to use your waist trainer?

Waist trainers can be a little tricky to put on if you’ve never tried them before. So follow these easy breezy steps to wear them in no time!

1. Choose the lowest setting. Most trainers have 2 to 3 rows of hooks, use the looser setting at first. Then work on tighter setting once you're used to the loose setting.

2. Hook from bottom up. Start hooking at the bottom of your waist moving upwards - this is the easiest way to wear your waist trainer.

3. Wear for a couple hours at first. Wear it for an hour or two a day until you are comfortable wearing it for longer hours.

4. Wearing for long hours. If you're comfortable with your waist trainer, you can wear it for longer hours. It is recommended to wear it for eight hours a day to get the best results.

5. Wear under garment. Most waist trainers are suitable to be worn under a garment. Find a clothing that is comfortable and will allow your skin to breathe even if you're wearing a waist trainer.

6. Remove it to sleep. Waist trainers are not meant to be worn at night. You need to give your body a chance to relax and recover.

Note: a waist trainer should never cause intense physical pain. If you ever experience this, please remove the waist trainer immediately.

How long should I wear my waist trainer?

We recommend starting with 2-3 hours per day then gradually add an hour or two to your regime until you are able to wear the trainer throughout the entire day. Make sure that you feel comfortable while wearing it, if you have any discomfort please adjust the tightness and lower the amount of time you are using it.

Can I wear the waist trainer overnight?

We would not recommend wearing the waist trainer overnight as it is more effective when you are standing or sitting up rather than lying down.

How should the waist trainer feel while wearing it?

It should feel “fitted” with a slight compression. It should not make you feel uncomfortable. If you are, then please stop wearing the waist trainer (you might have ordered a size too small if this is the case).

I have back/spinal problems. Can I still wear a waist trainer?

We have had many customers who use our waist trainers to aid with their back problems, scoliosis, and spinal issues so they don’t have to wear bulky medical braces. However, if you have any concerns, please consult your doctor beforehand.

I just had a baby! When can I start using a waist trainer?

We recommend waiting 6 weeks after giving birth before you start waist training. If you have had a caesarian you will need to wait until you are fully healed as the waist trainer could be sitting on the incision. Please refer to our Guide to Post-Pregnancy Waist Training for more information.

Will there be any damage to my body internally?

Our waist trainers are not strong enough to cause any internal damage to your body. They are not corsets that are made of a stronger material that cause organs and the floating ribs to be pushed in and up. They are a form of shapewear, like Spanx.

Do I have to continue wearing my waist trainer when the result achieved?

As long as you want to maintain the results, so we suggest you to continue wearing a waist trainer.

As long as you want to maintain the results, so we suggest you to continue wearing a waist trainer.

It is important to give your waist trainer a special care so they will last as long as possible. Follow these tips so that they will not lose their shape and effectiveness.

1. Wash Regularly
Wash it regularly in order to maintain hygiene and so that the materials contract and maintain their highest functionality. You can wear a garment a couple of times in between wash cycles, just be sure to follow the care instructions for your garment.

2. Gentle Hand Washing
Use mild soap and warm water. Be very careful not to scrub it too harshly as it can damage the waist trainer's structure and appearance.

3. Let It Dry Completely
After proper cleanup, leave it to dry completely to prevent growing bacteria due moisture. Also, try not to dry it directly under under the sunlight as it can lose its color. Instead, dry in a shady spot.

4. Do Not Iron
This is an important point especially if you are using 100% latex waist trainer, it will completely melt in hot iron.

5. Storage
To maintain its shape, lay shapewear flat in a drawer or closet. Do not roll it up! You can also hang it using clothes pins or hangers.

Do these and make your shapewear last!
